Meet the Coaches

Every Law School Performance Lab coach brings a unique perspective, but all share the same foundation: exceptional academic achievement and firsthand experience evaluating law school exams.

Our coaches graduated at the top of their law school classes and have demonstrated mastery of the skills required to succeed in law school. More importantly, our coaches are law professors who regularly grade essay examinations and understand what distinguishes an average answer from an outstanding one.

Because every professor approaches exams differently, our coaches bring diverse experiences, teaching styles, and insights. Together, they help students master both the fundamentals of exam performance and the art of tailoring those fundamentals to a specific professor's expectations.

Professor Hayley Stillwell

Hayley Stillwell is a law professor, attorney, and co-founder of Law School Performance Lab. As a law student, Hayley graduated first in her class, earning multiple academic honors and developing a deep understanding of the strategies that drive success in law school.

Today, she teaches and grades law school examinations, giving her a unique perspective on what separates average answers from outstanding ones. Through years of teaching, mentoring, and evaluating student work, she has seen firsthand that strong grades are not determined solely by legal knowledge. They also depend on organization, analysis, communication, and an understanding of what individual professors value in an exam answer.

As both a professor and mentor, Professor Stillwell is passionate about helping students unlock their full potential. She has worked with students at every stage of their legal education and enjoys helping them develop the confidence, judgment, and exam-writing skills necessary to succeed in law school and beyond. Her favorite part of teaching is watching students realize they are capable of far more than they thought possible.

Professor Taylor Peshehonoff

Taylor Peshehonoff is an attorney, professor, and co-founder of LSPL. As a law student, she graduated in the top 10% of her class and distinguished herself through her commitment to academic excellence, legal writing, and advocacy.

Today, she works closely with law students as they navigate the challenges of legal education, helping them develop stronger analytical skills, more effective study habits, and greater confidence in their abilities. Her experience reviewing student work and providing individualized feedback gives her valuable insight into the common obstacles students face and the strategies that help them succeed.

Known for her thoughtful and supportive approach, Professor Peshehonoff is passionate about helping students build the skills necessary to excel in law school. She enjoys working with students to refine their reasoning, strengthen their written communication, and develop practical approaches to tackling demanding coursework and examinations.
